Tip 40: Reinforcing Positive Behavior in Children with Point Program, part 1

Point Program is a system of using points to reward a positive behavior. A child gets points anytime a positive behavior is achieved. It is one of the several methods that we can use to get a behavior. One can use praise but adding point program will make praise systematic.
The program consists of earning and spending of points as follows:
1. The point operates like money, they are earned by accomplishing a behavior.
2. The points can be spent like money. The child can spend it on some interest such as having access to a toy, computer game, kids tablet or cartoons. The aim is to increase the practice of a behavior using point program.
It is often called Behavior Chart when a chart is used.
