God likes praises (Psalms 100). The more you praise Jehovah, the more wonders happen. Man, created in the image of God (Genesis2:27), also likes praises: for wonders happen in our academic lives, behaviors and other achievements when we are praised. Remember how the praise you received in school motivated you to reach higher high.
When your kid is 3 or 6 months old and about to eat solid food, you sing lullaby to praise him. And the kid eats more. But somewhere along the line, when they are growing up, we stop the praise. Praise your kids because human beings need it.
When you praise your kids you speak positive words to them, as described in the Bible. The child becomes what you say. Learn to speak positive words to your kids, instead of the negative words and insults. Label all insults in your house as bad words and start to count them till they become zero.
